What does your 11pm look like? We sit down with powerfully lovely A DOMANI friends, ask them the same 11 questions, and capture the beauty, passion, compassion, and occasional chaos that happens from dawn to dream—and everything in between.

For this week’s 11 at 11, we sit down with Mahri Relin, Founder of Body Conceptions.

A former professional dancer, Mahri Relin has worked for the Tracy Anderson Studio and was Creative Director for FlyBarre at Flywheel Sports. Today, through her company, Body Conceptions (bodyconceptions.com), Mahri provides personalized fitness training based on dance to women going through significant life events and changes—hello, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause and menopause! We sat down with Colorado-based Mahri, who was an early supporter of A DOMANI (watch her Instagram reel here), and talked about routines, the best nights of sleep, and what she’s watching…

1. What is your morning ritual?

I tend to feel the most anxious in the mornings, so my routine when I wake up is extra important to me.

I am lucky to have a partner who makes me coffee when he wakes up, so I usually start my morning with a cup of coffee and a podcast, which is usually something related to wellness or psychology (my favorite subjects!). I have private training clients almost every morning, and I give myself a full hour to do my hair and makeup, get dressed, eat a big breakfast, and get our room ready for my session. (Most of my earliest sessions are virtual with my NYC clients, so these sessions take place in our extra bedroom that has been converted into a fitness studio).

I am writing this in the winter when it’s extra cold in the mornings, but I always prefer to sneak in a morning walk before my first session after I get everything ready. I love the feeling of our warm Colorado sun on my face, and it’s a great chance for me to center myself with a walk and calm down the last bits of my morning anxiety before settling into my work with clients.

2. Breaking a sweat while sleeping=not fun. Fun=Breaking a sweat while ____.

Dancing to beautiful music!

3. What do you always have on your bedside table?

I keep a mini humidifier for the dry Colorado air, my little jewelry bowl, a calming essential oil roller, a glass of water and a book if I’ve been reading something. It’s a crowded space!

4. Where was the best night's sleep you've ever gotten?

Hmm, good question. I think I got my best night of sleep in my apartment in NYC after coming home from a wonderful but exhausting international musical theater tour. I used to travel all over the world performing, and I would sleep A LOT after coming home!

5. What are you reading/watching/listening to?

I am currently obsessed with The Armchair Expert podcast and all of its offshoots, and I’ve been watching and enjoying Fleishman is in Trouble on Hulu.

6. When are you most happy?

I am happiest when I’m either expressing myself through dance or traveling with my partner, Joe.

7. What can you not sleep without?

I can’t sleep without some kind of noise machine and my A DOMANI of course! I'm loving my tank and hepburn pant set

8. What does your perfect night look like?

I love jumping into a warm bath with a podcast and a glass of wine if I’m in the drinking mood. This is followed by a cozy night in front of the fire with Joe watching our favorite shows.

9. Early Riser or Night Owl?

I’m a natural night owl trying to convert to an early riser. It’s a matter of getting myself calm and settled enough to fall asleep sooner, which I’ve been trying to do for a few years now…

10. Midnight snack y/n.

I have been known to need food in the middle of the night if I haven’t eaten enough for dinner. It usually consists of a slice of cheese or a few chips to calm down my stomach. Not the most exciting I know!…

11. What are you dreaming of at the moment?

I’m dreaming of spending an extended period of time in Italy, my favorite place on earth.
